Luke Cometti grew up in Syracuse, NY and played high school lacrosse at West Genesee where he was named 2008 U.S. Lacrosse High School All-American, Central New York (CNY) Co-Player of the Year by The Post-Standard and Class “A” New York State Champion.
Luke continued to play NCAA Division 1 lacrosse at both Syracuse University and the University of Albany. In his senior year at Syracuse, he held the titles of USILA HM All-American and Big East First Team Selection. Luke led the Syracuse team in goals. He continued to play after college in the MLL for the Denver Outlaws before deciding to become a club director and high school coach.
After college, Luke settled in Austin, Texas, where he began coaching as the Vandegrift High School Assistant Varsity Coach and Youth Director in 2015, and in 2018 he was named Head Varsity Coach. In his second season as head coach of the Vipers, he was named Texas Central District Coach of the Year. While coaching at Vandegrift, he has also been a co-director of Austin Iron Horse Lacrosse since 2015.
Currently, Luke is focusing on helping young men develop their skills in lacrosse to greatly increase their opportunities to have the fun and rewarding lacrosse experiences that he has had.
